Companies has different reason to raise funds, some of the reason includes but not limited to:
1. Expansion
2. IPO
3. Fulfil a financial obligations, be it to pay employee salaries or a director who sold his shares

Well
Basically there is many reasons a company would be to look at raising funds, but at the end of the day, more often than not, it will be very difficult or nearly impossible to get investments unless you are a unicorn.
